Sr with stock 2.4 exhaust

Will the stock 240sx exhaust work with a sr20det? I got pulled over and the cop said my exhaust was illegal, so I have a repair order in my hand now. If it will work, I'll order one, but I dont want to waste my time if it wont. If it wont, what kind of exhaust will get me through that? Thanks

just prove thats its under 93db with a test show that in court and your off the hook a cop cant tell you its illegal w/o a db meter

but if its over 93db goto get one thats under that Tanabe sells them i dont think stock 240 ehaust will bolt up but you can make anything work with a electric saw and a welder.

and stock 240 exhaust gona make your sr run like crap so i would advise not to use it

god youre so wrong it hurts.

of course a ****ing stock 240 exhaust will bolt up to an SR!! everyone that has an aftermarket exhaust on their 240s without a swap has to buy a new one if they get an SR?! its a CATBACK designated for the chassis... NOT the motor. the SR downpipe lines up to the american cat, right?

and it wont make it run like ****... did every stock silvia in JP come with an Apex'i N1? NO!! they came with stock exhaust!!! hello?!

just put a stocker back on it, show you fixed it, then put your exh back on.

I have a test pipe on my car and the bolt holes on each end are offset, is the stock cat for a 240 like this too?

Being dumb...cop said he heard tires squealing, but it was my clutch...another question, why does my clutch make a squealing sound somtimes?

^^^ yes, all cat bolts are offset
yes, it wit fit sr
it won't run the best in the world, but all you gotta do is drive it to the hog-pen (police station).
- i have three stock s13 "catbacks" in my garage, and i'll give you one if you pick it up/pay shipping.
- o and they sell a little handheld DB meter at wal-mart for like $25.

Taylor is always angry I get worried when he isn't. He always comes through with the right answer though.

Could be a bad release bearing

I've heard that high flow cats don't make much difference, would it be better to run a high flow, or use the stock cat with my current (trust) exhaust?

It doesn't do it all the time, if it was the release bearing, wouldn't it make a whining sound when I step on the clutch? Not a squealing noise when I release it?
