stock temp gauge stop working
So my stock temp gauge decided to stop working on my sr so any ideas out there to fix it? One thing i was thinking was to put an adapter onto the upper rad hose, and doing it that way but i think its not the best way to do it.

there are 2 temp sensors on the SR one for the gauge and one for the ECM.
they are above the throttle body pretty close to each other. the one to the left is the temp sensor for the gauge

Yes! I would highly recommend it as the stock temp gauge is horrible. I've had people tell me that their aftermarket temp gauges were well above 200 while the stock gauge still read normal. Absolutely horrible!

As long as the thread pitch is the same, it will fit. Alot of people buy the S14 coolant neck and put an aftermarket temp sensor in it.
If the thread pitch isnt the same, you can get an adapter for it.

If you get a S14 waterneck you can use an adapter like this to install your water temp sensor into.
These are the adapters that come with an Autometer water temp gauge...
unfortunately none of them fit the bung...
so I got this adapter from JEGS part#:100460 1/4" male to 1/8' female
Works perfectly and doesn't leak. Hook it up!
It's also one of the cheapest options as the aftermarket hose with bung in it is over $100 and the water neck adapters will cost you about $10 to $15 more than a S14 waterneck and this JEGS adapter although the S14 waternecks have gone up in price since I got mine....curious!?
