18x8 wheels...what offset to get?
I made this EXACT post on Zilvia.net with no responses
this is a package deal, so im not sure if there is a SET offset they're selling, so is there any that i should look for and NOT look for?
im currently on Pro-Kits and AGXs on my S13 and the gap is still ENORMOUS. i want to see how these wheels fill the gap. The tires will be 225/40s for the front and 235/40s for the rear OR can i do 235s all the way around?
What do you guys think?
btw, im also looking to get full coilovers in the near future...im looking for a near flush look, and camber to tuck.
I'm a newbie to the 240sx suspension setup, so please educate me.
Thanx guys!
After doing some searching, im gonna add some more info so you guys wont have to ask me
I do plan on doing the 300zx front brake upgrade.
The wheel I am getting is the Axis Se7en Mod 18x8(from reading, it was said that wheel design plays into clearing the 300zx brakes)

I plan on doing some racing, along with some shows in the near future.
I'm pretty set on getting Eibach Sportlines to replace my current Pro-Kits unless someone has some feedback as to why not to, or suggests something else.
Thank you for ANY response. I have searched, but i'm not really finding what im looking for

well i can tell ya that the +40mm offset is stock on our car. i have no idea on how the offset thing will work with nice wide wheels.
i guess this is something i'll have to look into soon too. seeing s i like to drive REALLY fast around corners( grip) and love to drift(on stock wheels).....so lets make a team effort on this one......

well pro kits don't drop the car that much so that is your problem in the first place.
225/40 should be fine
you will get 3.6% Error on the Speedo Reading that is slow.
235/40
you will get 4.9% error on the speedo that is slow
BTW if you use 225/35 18 you get 0.0% error becaue its the same size as the total stock system. but i guess you want to get it bigger than the stock system so more rubber will help you out. But if you go too much bigger it can run into problems.
Offset on my 18's I just used a FWD offset and it worked out fine, +42.
I think to clear +40 something is needed in the front and in the +30s in the rear would be fine.

how much are you spending on 18s?
well over $2000 i assume...
if i were you i would just get nice sets of 16s w/50 series tires and spend the rest of money on full suspension set up like teins...
or if you want to stick with 18s...get 225/40 all around +40...
good luck

+32 in Front
+35 in Rear
225/45 Front
245/45 Rear

If you really want To line it out and work it as a true FR, then grab 18x7 or 7.5 front and 18x8 back.
This way you can run 215/45 or 40 in front and 235 or 245/45 0r 40 in rears. This will make IT stand as it should for a Rear drive.
Just an idea
