I was wonderin how much a typical 300zx brake upgrade would cost for a 5 lug w/ abs. Im lookin at only the front for now and i have a 96 240sx. All i would need is the 2 front calipers, rotors, new pads, and the steel braided lines right? Anywys if you have done this before reply plz cuz i need sum more info b4 i shell out sum dough

Id say around $300-$400, a little cheaper if you shop smart or have some hook ups. Thats for some new and some old parts

steel lines - around $90 or less
pads - around 70 for some good ones
rotors - non-blank (power slot, brembos (slotted or drilled)) around 97 - 120 each.
calipers - around 175 for steel and 250 for aluminum.

i love you people. 200 off ebay, and im getting them rebuilt...

why dont you try a parts store first. the 300zx aluminum calipers, already rebuilt, are 50 each, with a $60 core charge each. just take your stock calipers and return them for the core charge, they dont care, as long as they get something back.

rotors, 150 for the stock pair from top hat performance, available drilled for 4 lug no extra charge. brembos are 200.

good point, im gonna look around, my buddy gets em for about 74 bucks with his discount. i also was wondering though about the master cylinder..... the 240 MC is pretty small and only made for the stock calipers and with the new ones it needs to handle 3 extra pistons...should i get the 300zx master cylinder or will it be fine?

There is nothing wrong with using the stock 240 brake MC, but the pedal feel is kinda mushy I hear, so theres no reason to not get the 300zx MC for better pedal feel, unless money is a huge factor.
