Sorry if I interupt anyone I am not good at posts (this only my second) Anyway just wondering if anyone else has modified a 240 with 300zx brakes and how much trouble was it to do? I have all the parts I just haven't started the conversion yet. I am swapping callipers, rotors, rear uprights and changing to five lugs. any input would be appreciated. thanx

but eventhough i havent done this conversion myself, i have in fact read a whole how-to on it and everything is pretty much a direct bolt on... for the fronts atleast so i dont see you having any problems. ill try to find the link to the write-up for ya

Dude is mad easy. Everything is bolt on. The only modification u need to do is trimming the dust shield but that's about it. Super easy!

waste of 6 bucks IMO. i dont know but thier are some site son how to do it. if your doing the 5 lug swap, good luck its a beeyatch to do. but if your doing the 300zx brakes with the 4 lug all you need is

zx rotors (drilled for 4 lug)
rear brakes
calipers
matching brake lines for the hybrid swap
pads

anyone else add what he needs

You may also need a shim kit (recommended), brake hardware kit, clips and springs. All these item can be bought from your local nissan dealer but you must knoow what year your 300zx calipers
came from, aluminum or iron and turbo or na.

yeah right. even if it's not just for the brake swap article, SCC is by far the best tuner mag out there.

That's a total rip off! I did mine for only $450 with better brake lines and brake pads!

Well, I am doing a complete change-over 5 lug conversion and brakes. I have the front rotors, calipers, brake lines, 5 lug hubs (front), rear uprights, rear calipers, rear rotors, and rear brake lines all off of a '91 twin turbo Z, Except the front hubs, those are JDM Sylvia parts.

I got the front hubs at Courtesy Nissan, $100.00 each. The rest at a wrecking yard, prices vary depending on if they know what the parts are worth. I got lucky, only paid $250.00 for the whole set up front and rear. And as a bonus turns out they were off of a TTZ, which means the calipers are aluminum instead of the cast iron like the regular Z. If you are going to do it it's worth changing the rear uprights too aluminum on the Z means about 14lbs lighter VS cast for the stock units, rear Z brakes will bolt right up to the stock uprights if you are runnin short of cash or can't find the Z parts.
