300zx wheel offset

280zx wheel offset
Hey yall, I just got back from the junkyard today, I found a pair of really cool wheels on an older 280zx that i picked up for pretty cheap, when I brought them home I see that the offset is just a little off.
I was looking at them and it looks like I could get the back face of the rims machined down a few milimieters to make them fit, so I was wondering what the offset on the 280zx wheels would be, they are really close to fitting fine, but there is just not enough stud sticking through for me to be comfortable driving on them, the stud doesn't even completely fill my lug nuts,
so Is my idea of grinding down the back face of the rim too crazy to work? And what does it take to get longer studs coming out of the hubs?
