40$ coil overs??

Here

Am i insane for considering this but WTF this has to be a scam how could they sell coil overs for 38$ i didnt bid on it so i thought id ask you opinions about this.

it has this warining on it also:

[
Be aware : this set of coilover has aluminum upper hat instead of rubber upper hat.
what does this mean? that its metal on metal contact with the shock tower and no rubber to dampen any bump that you would go over.

i think this a ****ty ebay scam what do you think?

yeah, what he said. there's a thread around here (called "Ebay Coilovers?" i think) that talks more about them. just so u know, the sh1ttiest "true" coilover kits start ~ $600 and up. ****, u couldn't even get a decent set of springs (read: just springs; no shocks, no nothing) for under $150. save that $40 for a set of el cheapo strut tower braces or something...

it's all good. one of the first things i've learned when i started getting into "automobile enthusiasm" was that u get what u pay for, and u have to pay to play (and that hurts cuz i stay broke ).

Yeah those "Ebay coilovers" for 240's are the exact same ones they use for Civics... which are the exact same ones they use for Accords... which are the exact same ones they use for Altimas... etc.

But if you like bouncing around in your car then save the $40 and just cut your springs - you'll get the same effect LOL

Well the $40 coilovers are crap for sure... but there was a discussion before about some other stuff on Ebay.. the strut bars are pretty much all the same - brand names are more for bragging rights or show car people... strut bars aren't that hard to make and the question of quality I think would be in the hardware used and the fitment.

The standard "Ebay" aluminum intakes are actually pretty good as long as you use a name brand filter in place of the generic ones included with the intake itself... all of my friends and I have Ebay intakes with K&N filters and they work fine.

What else is there on Ebay for our cars... some of the super special body kits for $400 are kind of questionable... especially when they have 3 different pictures of 3 different kits.

...if I think of more (other than the proven brand name stuff) I'll post about it.

Yep the strut bars arent that bad..i would buy em. The intakes are a lil eh..just change the filter and you will be set. Body kits no..they also sumtimes have crap headers/manifolds..dont buy em. They will crack on you in a matter of time.

$9... but $14 shipping LOL

Ot of the 3 choices, #1 and #2 would still probably be considered "generic".

However, #2 is a nice piece. They have fr and rr bars for S14's and I think S13's too (well, front for sure since you found it) but keep in mind, you're gonna have to drill a few holes to install it properly. I'd go with #2... just uh, not blue.

Ive heard of bad things of that 4 point strut bar..supposedly rips the firewall from all the flexing but I still have yet to see that happen.
