Brake noise?

Well I've been getting this wierd noise on my car sounds like metal scraping coming from my right front wheel. I drive an S14(95) and at first I figured bad pads but no, because when i press the brakes the noise goes away. I cant figure it out, the pads are fine as well as the rotors. One other thing it does not always make this noise either...sometimes it wont make it for like a whole day...but other days it gets really loud and does it the whole day. Sort of lost here as what it may be..HELP!

have you checked the pads? coudl be the wear indicator is just slightly touching and the pads move far enough off every now and then to stop making noise. i have had cars where the wear indicator will only make noise when you are not on the brakes.
