Brake Question

I'm tyring to buy some KVR pads. Is it bad to use KVRs on stock discs? I am getting mixed signals from people. KVRs are gonna cost me 67 shipped but OEM pads will cost around the same if not more.

I got KVR's on mine and I think there pretty damn good. I've put a couple of track events on them and they still have LOTS of padding left. They dont dust much either.

The only 'bad' thing about them is that when they are very cold the pads make some noise when brakes are applied. But after a few brakes its all back to normal.

My braking overall is much better compared to OEM pads.

As far as the EBC pads I've heard they are not so great. Specially at the track. I've never used them so I cant give you personal tastes but I've heard they 'vanish' pretty quick (for track use at least.
I'm not sure how hard they are on the rotors either. Either way OEM would be a safe route if you dont plan on too much auto-x or track events.

EBC makes different compounds for track use. green stuff is just a sport type pad.

I just finished doing a brake job on my 95 240. I used KVR carbon metallic pads with Brembo cross-drilled and slotted rotors. Stopping is very smooth, and consistent. Very good pads to get, also because they are carbon metallic they won't cause as much brake dust as say an asbestos based pad would. I like the KVR's, and suggest you get them. I've also heard very good things about Axxis metal masters, and Endless brake pads. The Endless also come in a special design which aids in drifting, how I don't know, but thats what they claim. It most likely has something to do with a certain technique used to induce the drift.

Autoimaging has them for $109.99 for the front and rear sets. Not that bad a price.

For some reason this link isn't working....I'll try again.

EBC turbo rotors are also a nice setup. Mix that with Endless pads and Goodridge SS brake lines. I couldn't get a set of EBC's for my car so I went with Black Diamond in the UK and Endless pads with Goodridge lines.
