Bumpsteer???

Searched for bumpsteer but found nothing. Can some of you please explain it to us? What it does, how to diagnose it and how to correct for it.

when your spring compress your suspension geometry changes (more drastically on a lowered vehicle) and causes the the wheel to toe in/out. usually bad tire wear is a clue...

Thanks! My tires were cupping out pretty badly since I lowered the car. I've started swapping out my front suspension.

You should also notice the steering wheel shaking whenever you go over bumps.

if his tires are cupping then it's not camber. that could just be from a very out of balanced wheel.

it could also be from a blown strut.

Then how do I correct it. Whenever I go over bumps it feels like the car changes direction slightly and I have to compensate. It also feels like the rear end slides over toward the right side when I hit any bumps.

my rear end does that too. my rear bushings are bad and i'm about to get some collars for them. that should help tremendously. I will get them in about a month. www.splparts.com has some for $74(s14) idk about s13. They have great customer service. Kazama also has some for the rear and I think they are around $100. For the front end moving when you go over bumps, an alignment should fix that.

Cool. I just finished with the frontend. I'll align that. I was going to start with upper/lower control arms on the rear but I'll try the rear bushings first. As for SPL, their customer service is #1. I bought some parts from them and had them in two days. Simply amazing! SPL Parts FTW!!!!
