A few questions

Some of you might remember me, but most probably don't. I posted about a year ago on here when I was thinking of getting a 240. Well, now I finally am. It's a dark red '95. But more on that later. And before you ask, yes I tried searching. Either the search function is broken, or my browser is screwed up, because all it did was take me to a blank page. Anyway, now for the questions.

The car is going to need new tires soon. I'd say they have 30% tread left on them, maybe. I'm also thinking about getting new rims. I'm also thinking I need snow tires. But, I'm on a limited budget. What brands would you guys recommend for rims? I know the big name brands make top quality stuff, but I really don't want to have to pay $200+ per rim. I'd probably be looking at a 17"x 6-7" rim for back and front. Are there any decent five or six spoke rims for those of us on a budget? Or should I just wait until I can afford the 5-lug swap and do it all at the same time?

And a related question...how do these cars do in snow? I live in Denver, and it doesn't snow a whole lot in town from what I've heard, but I've never driven in snow before at all. Would a good set of all-seasons be enough, or should I get dedicated snow tires?

Thanks for any opinions you can give. And sorry if this has been asked a lot. Like I said, the search won't work for me. Maybe someone more fortunate can use it and point me to existing threads.

Edit: And what's with the weird table sizing? Is there any way to optimize the forum for a 1024x768 screen? I hate having to scroll...I don't remember it being like this before though.

um, 6-7" wheels suck *****.

9" is considered "conservative sizing" on a S14. and there are really nice 17x9 +17 or 17x9 +27 wheels made by mbmotoring

or get some 5zigen FNs.

yeah 6 or 7 inches wide suck. if your on a budget just buy some new tires for your stock rims, and wait until you can afford good wheels, dont cheap out. youll just be wasting your money.

Oops. Brain fart. I meant to put 8-9". :P The stock rims are 6" aren't they?

Those rims are nice, but I'm thinking I may get something different in color, like a polished black or dark grey. The ones that are on the car are a dark grey color, and I like that look.

Edit: And holy crap, are those FNs expensive.
