anyway his questions are.

he gots an s14 with 17x8½ +38 on and hes barely hitting shock. Whats the thinnest spacer he can use to clear shock?
oh and he has Stock ride height?
will he need extented studs?

those generic 5-8mm ones will do. anything after 10mm, get nismo studs, or arp studs for the f-body<will require new lug nuts. or h&r track plus spacers

ill spare you and/or him my opinion on the rim choice...

 

Anything larger than 8mm you need extended studs.

Your friend needs to learn how to pick out better wheels.
