KYB AGX Question (Help)

Ok, heres the sitsuation. I just recently bought a pair of "slightly" used S13 KYB AGX from ebay. I am familiar with how normal struts feel when they are in good shape, but these feel different. I believe i got ripped off and got bad struts. When i compress the struts, they do not return to their orginal positions. When compressed, they really dont do much of anything. Sorry to sound like a newb, but I am unfamiliar with these. So does this mean i bought bad struts? thanks in advance.

From your description it does sound like you purchased blown struts. A strut under compression should "rebound" once the acting force is removed, if your struts aren't doing that then they are probably toast. I'm not sure how it would work for you but as I understand it KYB agx's have a lifetime warranty so you might want to follow up on that and/or pursue the fraudulent ebay vendor. Check the ebay thread though to make sure he didn't slip some fine print in about how they were never tested and are "as is" etc.

I hope you learned a lesson from this. A lot of parts that have a short lifespan when beaten aern't good to buy used. I guess we all learn from our mistakes. Goodluck!!!!

yeah I wouldn't buy used struts unless I know the history. I put used struts in my G20, but they were from a friend's car so I know their history 100% and got them dirt cheap. In the 240 I made sure to get new stuff.
