my suspension upgrade ideas. help me out!

well i am thinking about upgrading my suspension before i go with my big powerup mods. driving the car isnt as much fun as it should be with the terable body roll, and bumpy/clunky ride it has right now. heres what i am thinking about doing...

PDM racing is having a special sale on witeline suspension parts. the busing package includes:

1 x TC Rod Bushings
2 x Rear Upper Control Arm Bushings
1 x Rear Lower Control Arm Bushings
1 x Rear Subframe Bushings
1 x Front Lower Control Arm Bushings

for $308

and the complete suspesnois package inclused all above, plus this:
Whiteline Lowering Springs
Whiteline Front Adjustable Swaybar & Endlinks
Whiteline Rear Adjustable Swaybar & Endlinks
Front Camber Correction Bolt Kit
TC Rod Bushings
Front Lower Control Arm Bushings
Rear Upper Control Arm Bushings
Rear Lower Control Arm Bushings
Rear Subframe Bushings

for a total of $760

i was thinking about getting the complete suspension package, with some other things like tie rods, and steering rack boots, and stuff like that. i am kind of debating if i want springs or coilovers though. i could sell the springs and get a decent set of coilovers, and have an uber sweet complete suspension upgrade.

how much would these parts improve the handling of the car? is there anythign else that would be recomended to replace at the same time? basicly what i want is a relitivly complete suspension upgrade/renweal that will be very aggressive on the street, and good for autox or road race if i ever get into that.

i guess my biggest concern is if these parts are worth it, and coilovers vs. spring+shock combo.

yeah i thought about that, but man what an expense. i dont think i could justify spending 200 a pair for arms. especially when theres so many. that would add like $800 to the cost.

If you cant justify spending money on good parts then sell your car.

this sounds a little harsh but he has a point, do it right the first time and you wont ever have to worry. Besides you get what you pay for. meaning it might end up costing you more just to fix things later down the road. Think of it as an investment.

yeah i understand that, but how nesesary are they? when the stock arms will do fine, whats the reason for spending $800 for aftermarket arms?

hey at leaast im not planing on throwing just springs and shocks, or sa set of coilovers on and call it a day. im wanting ot do the best with what i can. i dont have a huge cashflow. im still in highschool.

i'm presently installing:

outer tie rod ends ($23 each)
Moog LCA Ball joints ($40 each)
Nismo LCA Bushings ($11 each)
Nismo TC Rod Bushings ($31 each)

Total: $205

Hopefully I'll finish by this weekend, as long as the weather holds up.

All these parts w/exception of LCA Bushings were busted to hell and needed replacements.....I do agree with doing things right the first time, but you'll have to make the decision on your own as to what your final plans are with the car.

me, i wish i had gone with KYB AGX instead of KYB GR-2. Other then that, no regrets.

I'll let you know how it rides after I'm done.

and yes, for the money, I would go w/good spring and shock combo. unless you want to spend $1600 for TIEN. That's more then i paid for the car.

i'm assuming your joking.

anyway, i'm with you on the control arms.

outer tie rod ends = advanced auto
moog lca ball joints = orielly's
nismo bushings = http://www.courtesyparts.com/

it's about efficiency. i think nismo t/c rod bushings ($31 each) are great alternatives to JIC pillow tension rods (http://www.jic-magic.com/productsjic_armrod.htm) that will beat the hell out of you during daily driving.

now if my car was a track vehicle only and i wanted this level of precision, then i wouldn't hesitate purchasing these products.

They have teins ranging from $800 to $1800 depending on what you want. $800 is pretty good compaired to springs $150-250 and then struts $350-500.
