Need rim advice

So when I got my s13 it had some horrible looking chrome 15's on it, all corroted and just basically junk. I had some spare rims that I had taken off of another car that i'm using right now. These but 18's.

To be honest they dont' look as bad as you would think. But they are not even close to what i want on this car. I don't want chrome and i'm gonna drop down to 17's so I can get a little more rubber and a little smoother of a ride. I either want silver or white. I can't seem to find any pics of s13 coupes with white rims. Is there a reason for this? I've never been a fan of white rims except for on red cars for some reason. My s13 is red. I've found a few that I like but are a little more than I wanna spend. I wanna stay around $700 or lower with rims and tires. I was wondering if I could get some suggestions of rims similar to these.
If I go silver I want a design similar to these.

And if I go white I want a design similar to these.

Performance, weight, and width are not a big deal to me right now cause i'll be short on cash for a little while. I'll be buying them as soon as I can sell those chrome ones. Also It would be better if I could find them without a tire package cause I have a good tire hookup where I live. So if you know of any similar looking rims to these or a site to get these a little cheaper that would be great. Thanks in advance.

honestly i'd look for used wheels / tires. you can get a lot for your money and can get them overhauled for about 130ish per wheel later in your life. (comes out looking brand new)

Thanks for the quick replies gonna check out the link in a few minutes. I have another question. I've been riding my 97 altima with the stock 15"s for awhile now. Obviously they have more rubber than my 18's but today when i drove my 240 to work it felt like i had wooden wheels and I think I got hemeroids just by driving it. Do all 18's with low pros feel like that?? Could I have a suspension problem? And will 17's with max tire size feel much better? Thanks.

ok the best idea is probably MB motoring weapons, looks similar to the pic u posted but a lot nicer, cheap, high quality and cheap 17x9 offset 17. $134 each and if you really want you can paint them white. one of the best wheels in the price range

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...A&tp=&rcc=null

i highly recomend these wheels, especially over the wheel you posted, which is (no offense) crap

like s13 240 said, they are not available in any decent sizes or offsets, its been universaly accepted that they look like **** on 240s and theyre heavy, plus they are overpriced.

Ayu I like those rims you posted but aren't they all 5 lug? And wouldn't something that wide with that offset require added work to mount?

no 17x9 +17 should be pretty flush. at most you will need to stretch your tires a bit and roll the fender. If you significantly lower your car you will need RUCAs anyways so 1.5-2 degrees of negative camber might help. and yes unfortunately they are only available in 5 lug, but 5 lug is a good investment anyway as it will be compatible with infinately more wheels than 4 lug as well as saving you money later if/when you decide to do a brake upgrade.

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't think I"ll be doing the 5 lug conversion, but about how much would it cost and where would be the best place to get the parts?

Also since i'm probably not gonna be doing it what do you think about these rims? would they not fit right?
17x7 4-100 40m or
17x7 4-108 40m

not only will they look super-sunk in, you will need to convert you hub PCD to either 100mm or 108mm, your car has a PCD of 114.3mm, so no, without extensive modification that will cost more than a 5 lug conversion those wheels will not fit.

how about some 5zigen fn01rc's in (4 lug) 17x9 +20? avialable at www.splparts.com

and this is enough spoon feeding, please do some research and decide for yourself what good wheels are. www.zilvia.net has a picture thread as well as a wheel fitment picture thread that have a variety of pictures that will help you guage what wheel size and offset is right for you. also do research on offset, just becuase the wheel design looks good does not mean it will look good on your car.

www.club4ag.com has a for sale section that has a lot of wheels.
so does www.zilvia.net
