obx coilovers

Was looking on ebay and doing some research on suspension mods for the future. Saw those yellow (arospeed?) ones for sale that everyone says suck and you shouldnt buy them. Then right along side them were the slightly more expensive OBX coilovers . I was wondering how much better are these (if they are better) then the arospeed ones? OBX seems to be a more well known brand so I'm thinking they'd be better? Why are they so close in price?

Probably made by the same company, just labeled differently and also since OBX is known a little more, there's the price difference. You pay more for a name.

OBX stuff is okay, for the interm, but in the long run a more reputable brand is suggested (by me anyway)

yes I second that!!!!! OBX, AROSPEED and may i add RACTIVE?
are pretty terrible. all their springs are soft and will only ruin your suspension even more. You will regret it big time. I know many 240sx owners online who have tried those products and always seem to kick themselves in the ***.If you want coilovers and dont want to pay near the thousands, i suggest you get ground controls at www.ground-contol.com they are made with eibach springs, I called them and they said it would be fine to use KYB GR2's, which are much cheaper then AGX. you can buy just the fronts for around 200 or just the rear for the same. Or even less, those guys are good, they can cut you a deal.

If you have an s13, i would definitely not get GR-2, pay the extra for the AGX. The reason being the GR-2's die very quickly and are not made for lowering springs. THe AGX is made for lowered cars and has adjustments on shock dampening.

so for the now on a low budget GC's with AGX is the way to go? what else will satisfy my need to bend for the rest of the non-snow season? as far as shx and springs go

I wouldn't say the AGX's are made for lowered cars.... since they aren't specifically (or pretty much in any way, at least by AGX) advertised for such, but they're built better than GR2's.
Second, the GR2's are definitely not as worthless as everyone seems to think they are; given, GR2's can't handle much more than Sportlines (i'd imagine GC's would tear them up... lowest springrates i've heard of on them were like 350lbs/in).

That said, for the S13, AGX's are probably the best bang-for-the-buck. Us S14 owners are screwed.
