quick question on tires

i dont know much about tires and this 240 is my first rwd car...on tues i was goin down a hill to pick up my cuz from summer school and it was raining unbelievely hard for some odd reason..so i took it slow and yet i still found my self goin the opposite direction and onto the curb and almost into the lightpost.
now my question is..if i were to get tires that are pretty good in the rain..would it help me avoid that from happening again?

That's a good possibility! First I would compare your tire ratings against more rain friendly tires and see if the numbers suggest better rain performance. The big online tire stores have comparison charts and user reviews. I suggest looking though those.

You def need to watch yourself with a rwd car. Does your car have an LSD? If it does, it will make it even more unforgiving in the rain!
