Radiator Support Removal

Hello, I am new to the board, and will give you a quick run down of myself.

21, M, Just bought 95 base model 240SX.

It has been hit it the front and I am trying to repair the body.

The radiator support is completely bent to crap, the radiator is gone.

I dont have the time, money or resourses right now to completely replace the support.

My questions to you are as follows:

1. Does the radiator support provide regidity to the frame.

2. Would i have a problem if i cut it out and went without one.

3. If i need one in there, would it be OK to replace it with a piece of metal tube instead of the factory support.

4. If it is OK, then where would a good place be to weld the new bar into the frame.

5. Also, what metal is the frame made of? an alloy? or steel?

6. Are there any radiators from other vehicles that work better than stock without spending money for a performance unit?

I have already searched and did not find the information i need. Please dont post "SEARCH" because I have and i know where the search button is. (NOTE: I didnt search question 6, you can make fun of me for that one.)
