I just got some strut bars and the front one went on fine, however in the rear of my 96 the upper mounting point for the strut is covered by a metal shield and as such i cannot get the bar in. What have ou guys done to install it? Im thinkin of just cutting out the area i need.

you have to be more specific

i have installed several different kinds of strut tower bars

which do you have?

 

I have a 97' 240 and to put on the rear strut that gos threw the trunk opening hole I had to cut sum metal off

Better to save up sum $$ and buy like a nismo top strut bar so you dont have to modify anything

 

or buy the cusco one that goes right behind the rear seats.
