I am getting the SPL subframe spacers/collars soon, and wanted to ask anyone that has them (or a similar model),

How thick are they?

Does "sandwiching" them in raise the car significantly (i.e. more than a 1/4 inch)

Just wanted to check.

 

why would it raise the car? maybe increse negative camber angle, but raise the car?

I have them, they tighten up the rear a lot, from what i can tell they didnt raise up my car at all, lol. But they did increase some camber in the rear.

 

It's no wonder so many people think this forum is shatty. I get blown up for a reasonable question....think about what I asked, it's actually a good question.

You are adding a spacer/collar between the subframe and the chassis............why WOULDN'T this raise the chassis relative to the subframe......not to difficult to comprehend.

If the collars don't actually take up any extra space, a simple "the collars fit into the gap without taking any space up" would have been better than telling me to kill myself.

 

i thaught it was a fine question too, depending on how worn your old bushing is what i would think, but if it did at all it wouldnt be noticable, if you get them, let me know what they did for the wheel hop, ive been getting that bad latley, ohh, and you can change the anti-squat geometry but using, well never mind, you can read it at their website lol.

 

i believe somewhere someones posted on how well they helped, as for the wheel hop, they do help....but most of all, the rear feels stiffer in turning and hitting bumps because there is less play...if they raise your car at it, it wont even be noticable, max of like 5mm

 

Okay thank you for the reasonable response. I can't tell from any website or install pics how thick they are, and couldn't tell if the take up an vertical space on the bolt, which would raise the car slightly.

 

I need to get some of these, or just some new bushings....my rear is sloppy as hell. If everything else would just stop breaking!!!

 

you are moving the subframe down relative to the ground, not the strut tower/mounting points. this is a simple concept, take a moment to think about why your question didn't make any sence rather than retorting with rude remarks.

 

better yet, someone could have answered with that explanation prior to insulting me.
