Steering Rack.

Hey, is there a distinction between the HICAS vs the nonHICAS steering rack? I mean physical appearances, that is. I ordered a HICAS steering rack from steeringrack.com and want to make sure I received the HCIAS rack, since I have hear they mix them up and send their customer's the wrong ones. I just received it today and wnat to make sure before I install them. THanks. Latez.

The HICAS rack is 2.6 turns lock-to-lock and the non-HICAS is 3.1. Wrap some tape around the jaws of your vise-grips, clamp it on the input shaft and count the turns.

99.9% sure you won't get a 4 ws rack. but you never know
i ordered from them and another place neither provided me with a 4ws rack.

but yes. count turns lock to lock. 2.6= hicas 3.1= non hicas.

i bought my hicas rack off the forums. jumped on the first one i saw.

Yeah, buying one rebuilt is impossible because of the people trading in their non hicas cores for hicas racks. It isnt the fault of the companies, its the people who bull**** the companies by sending back the wrong rack (they're visually indestingushable) that ruined it for everybody.

I used your advice and it is a HICAS rack. YES! THanks for the tips guys, but never buy from them. And I mean NEVER. Bad service, long waits, no replies. Buy else where. Latez.

So now new question, how do I reduce bump steer? My car has bad inner tie rods and since my steering rack comes with new tie rods I was thiinking of getting tein outer tie rods. Would that help with reducing bump steer? Thanks. Latez.
