Unless your car sat for 10 years im going to say your shocks are blown. KYB GR2 are a inexpensive and well worth it up grade.

gr2s are basically stock replacements

but stock > blown stock.

I ran a nissan shop for years....every sngle person that put these on stock struts ended up replacing their struts. Its just a matter of time. The other issue is that the stock struts are under dampened for the tein springs which affect handling and bouncyness.

The GR-2s do work, and will last longer, but again they are underdampened. You really want at least an AGX or some other perfmance strut

I'm planing to lower my S13 and was looking at the Tokico HP. How are those in comparison to the AGX and GR-2? Thanks.

tokico illuminas are nice. and so are the koni hts, but i dont know if those are available for the 240. also i know this has been said a hundred trillion times but coilovers are generally a way better investment as opposed to strut/spring combo.

tokico HPs are the Blues right? then no go. they will blow just as fast as stock and the damening is basically the same. if you are set on a strut/spring combo, id say something along the lines of Koni yellows/HTS and RSR/tanabe springs, or get springs wound to whatever weight you want. Koni yellows and 6kg/4kg springs sounds pretty good.

Honestly, I was in the same boat as you. I wanted to do the spring/shock combo, but i didn't want to spend the money and get some shocks. It will ride like poo with oem shocks, and if you want any comfort at all, you need some decent shocks as well. My friend has a agx/eibach combo, and it's not bad, good all around. But he also paid 200 for the spings and 500 for the shocks, and for that much you can almost get a set of megan coilovers.

Okay, I went on Craigslist and picked up a set of AGX's for 300 and put those on today along with my 2" drop springs. Looks good but Im going to drive it tomorrow to test it out (it's like 11p now). But on ebay I saw a set of AGX's, for 380 shipped.
Here's the link for those who are interested:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...161946668&rd=1

Total I spent on my suspension was $400.
($100- springs; $300- shocks)

If you choose to get the shocks and springs off ebay, you can spend $500 total for the shock/spring combo.
