suspension help

Ok.. I have a couple questions, but first, I'm lookin' to do the RB25det engine swap into my 240sx and I will probably build it to get 450-500hp... I want to have a pretty quick 1/4 mile time, with good handling still, and I want to do some 'drifting' also.... Is there any way that I could get suspension stuff that would help in all three situations? If so, could ya'll help me make a list of stuff?? (obviously by my usage of 'stuff' I don't know too much about the suspension aspect of the car) Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

1) coils or shocks/springs - JIC, Nismo, Tein, HKS, Zeal, KYB, Tokkico, Eibach, D2 racing (will soon learn if those are good coils)
2) adjustable rods - Tein, Kazama, Battle verison (i have those...great!!), Cusco
3) sways - Whiteline (adjustable)
4) strut bars - really just pick one big names aren't all too speical. S14 rear strut bars those cost a ****ing arm and leg.
5) tires
6) Nismo Power brace
7) Kazama frame spacers

if you do most or all of that and then some your car will be very tight and handle very well.

Here is a list that no one likes to post:

1. Helmet
2. Jack
3. Toolbox
4. Jackstands
5. Gloves
6. Event entry fee
7. Driver's school

You can drift your car right now the way it is! Does it run? If so it will drift.

BIG SMOKING ROOSTERTAIL DRIFTS!

You don't need power. It is all skill.

I sell parts now and I would still want you to improve your skill over slapping some parts in.

If you get track time you will know exactly what you want from the way the car behaves. Get to know your car. Then you will make lists and be able to offer help.

Good luck out there.

I know I dont need the power for drifting.. Just wanna have it for fun to mess with the crap imports around here..

I have another question though.. Will the extra weight from the RB engine be a problem? I'm lookin' at either the JIC coilovers or Tein HE's... Also, what are the significant differences between the two besides the ride? Thanks again for the help.

From wut i have heard..it isnt a big differnce. Relocate the battery to the rear and dont install A/C and u will be set

In the grand scheme of things you might not notice the difference. With suspension you can compensate for the weight by adding coil strength.

When swapping out a SOHC in favor of a DOHC Honda motor most guys up their rates a 1 or 2k. That will compensate for the heavier motor.

Jinx custom order those coilovers when you get them. They are weighted for a SR in a 240sx. You have a 2.0 or a 2.6? You might need some more stiffness. Tell your parts guy to put in a custom order.

I dont think i would need to do that much stan, people with stock suspension say its close to stock handling, so with the teins the handling shouldnt suffer at all. Ill talk to my friend to see if he can hook me up with stiffer springs in the front.
