Tackled the subframe bushings today
it really wasnt as bad as i thought it'd be. all said and done, it took me about 5 hours. that included cig/beer breaks
hmm whats this? no rear end!
here it is out of the car
look at how bad those things are! completely GONE. the two front inner sleeves popped right out, didnt even have to burn them - thats how bad they were
here is the key tool for this install. oxygen and acetylene
FIRREEEEE!!!!
^ getting all the rubber and sleeves out was the most time consuming part of the whole job... even with the cutting torch.
and finally... new bushings are in
if anyone else does it.. all i gotta say is be very careful bolting it back on. i stripped one of the studs... luckily i had a die/tap set handy and i only needed to rethread it maybe 2 or 3 threads. just be careful because i think getting those studs out could be a major PITA.
