I was interested in purchasing Tein S-Tech Springs that have a 1.6" drop in front and 1.2" in back. I was wondering if anyone here may be able to vouch for them, the ride quality?

And also maybe if anyone here has a picture of their S13 with a 1.5/1.6" Drop in front and 1.2" In back for reference.

quite a fwew people have them, they are good springs and ride fairly soft for lowering springs. There are stiffer ones out there if thats what you want though, search around on google and ull find some pics of some s13's with them.

^^what he said. from what i've heard, it's only a tiny bit stiffer than stock springs.
if you want soemthings stiff, get some megans. eibach sportlines give a nice drop, but not as stiff as megans.
are you going for looks or a stiffer ride?
springs rates:
Megans are 6Kg front, 4Kg rear
Sportlines are 4Kg front, 3Kg rear
Stechs are 3Kg front, 2Kg rear

you might want to get new shocks also because your stocks are gonna blow.
get some agx for those.

I have S.techs over kyb gr-2's ( i was poor). The drop is barely noticeable unless you know 240's or someone with a stock suspension is right next to you. To give u an idea of how low it is, i can fit 3 fingers between the tire and the fender in the front and 2 in the back. The ride is alot stiffer than the 12 year old stockers with blown shocks... lol. Sometimes when i run touge or drift i wish they were stiffer because there is still more body roll than i would like. Overall i'm quite happy with this setup, its good if you're on a budget, however if you can at all afford it, buy a good set of coilovers or at least get AGX's.

if your looking for stiffness you will want some aftermarket shocks, springs dont really do anything stiffness wise. browse on cardomain you should have no problem finding some pics of s-techs

I like them to be only a bit stiffer then stock springs. The drop is what im mainly aiming for. I do try to drift, just getting into the sport itself so do u guys recommend something else for drift purpose.

This is my daily driver, i know dumb idea, but i dont want a horribly stiff ride.

i agree with motegineon. at first i just wanted springs so i could slam my car. but its a whole lot better to just wait and get coilovers. theyll be 10x's better than springs.

I agree. But a set of coilovers for a Nissan 240 costs like 1000. Im not really willing to spend a thousand for coilovers. Thats too much money, are their any other options towards coilovers, cheaper name brand possibly yet still good/dependable?

yes, you can get megan racing coilovers for 800 brand new. If you keep your eyes on the for sale boards on here and zilvia.net and search for them ive seen them go new for 650 shipped, which is what a set of springs/shocks is going to cost you..

lol every spring/shock thread ends the same way, lol "save and buy coilovers" , but seriously though theres a reason for it and i promise you after you buy them you will be like "damn im glad i listened and waited out for coilovers"

s techs and agx over here. mine is a daily driver so i felt coilovers were overkill for going to work and the grocery store. buy coilovers only if youll use it. if not, its a waste. this is all my opinion of course. look up my thread in the members ride section for pics

I agree with re037. If the car is mainly a daily driver and will see very little, if any, track time, I feel coilovers are overkill. A good spring/shock combo will would suffice and would be relatively cheaper.
