Tire/Wheel fitment
Yes I searched first, couldnt find enough info.
Anyway, I have come across a deal for Enkei RS6 wheels (17X7 4-100/114 38S). I plan on using installing Falken Azenis Sport tires: 225/45-17 for autox use mostly. I currently have Yoke 215/45's on Konig 17X7 40s rims for daily drivin. The fronts barely clear the struts. I wanted to know what yall thought about the fitment, good, bad, what the hell are you thinking?
Do I have to use spacers on the front wheels to clear the struts, recommendations?
For reference I have a '96 240sx (4 lug) with OEM style struts no plans for coil overs, but the possibility of lowering springs.

Measure the distance you have now and compare the width of the yoko and falken. Subtract the 2mm you just gained in space with the lower offset.
I personally would get a smaller/lighter rim for autox. You'd be better off with a dedicated set with autox tires - shouldn't cost much more if any. The fact that you want RS6's biases me even more (most common aftermarket wheel in central texas - it seems).

Yeah I already did the math, didnt look good. I was just checkin to see if anyone had done sumthin like this fitment before.
Im not dead set on RS6's, I just happened to come across a deal on em (fell through anyway). I was lookin for 17s because I know that Azenis are the shiznit and they are only available in 45 series or lower. Any other good recommendations: Nitto, Pirelli, Dunlop?

Ooh, victoracers, found those in 225/50-16 on tire rack for $130/ea. Ok now I gotta find a 16" wheel with 35 or less offset and a 114.3 pattern...that doesnt cost $300 a rim (leaves out Volk, SSR, Versus..) Ideas?

Keep in mind that I need a 114.3 lug spacing 35 or lower offset to work with 225 tires. So far I have only found Volk, buddy club (both $400/wheel) and kosei (still looking for pricing on that-tire rack).

These tires will be for auto-x and maybe warm weather cruzin only. I already have a set of AVS ES100s on 17's for daily driving.
On another note, I spoke with one of the schlubs at Discount tire about using 225/50-16 Kumho's on 16x7 38s rims(which are a shiz-load easier/cheaper to find than 32s). He noted that alot of the "japanese" R-compound racing tires have a very thin x-section and may actually have a real section width shorter than 225mm. Do any of yall think that there is any credence to this? I dont wanna take the chance buying rims and tyres then have them not fit by hitting my front struts.

If you want to run 225 16, track tires, find out what the s2000 guys are using. Their factory tires were listed as 225, but in actuallity were more like 245. They'll know what the largest section width tire is.
