Can't say first-hand for a 240SX, but they were ok on my 200SX. Personally I'd go for KYB GR-2's, or if you have performance on your mind, KYB AGX's. I've been in a lot of different cars equipped with AGX's and I love it. Those matched with Whiteline, Tein or Eibach springs are great combo for a street-driven car.

Unless you have about $2000, then get some full-on coilovers.

If your car isn't lowered, nothing wrong with the GR2's, go for them. If your car is lowered do the AGX's, the gr2's are meant for stock replacement, not lowered cars and they won't work in their optimal range. I own the AGX's and LOVE them. You got a couple K's and love suspension, then coilovers all the way.

Too bad AGX's have to be in that super-bright orange color

lol, except it's red. And if you really want you can spray paint it whatever color you so desire. well, if you wanna do that effort thing.; But yeah, I wish they made them in black to match my car.

So Tokico's are considered less reputable than AGX's? Why's that? What's the diff between the two. Cause I've driven a 300ZX with some Tokico blues and man did that thing handle. Resisted my pushes on the corners too. That impressed me. I know some people like the AGX's cause they're adjustable, but aren't there some adjustable Tokico's too? Just wonderin...

I don't think it's all reputation, although a lot of 240SX owners have AGX's as opposed to Tokicos... and the AGX is less in price compared to Tokico Illumina's (not HP's). Maybe that's a factor

They make Illumina's for the 240? Didn't see any on thier website. I just saw the HP's. Can anyone confirm this? How much are AGX's anyways?

No no I didn't say they did (I honestly don't know)... what I meant was, KYB's adjustable dampening shock (AGX) are all around less in price compared to Tokico's adjustable shock (Illumina's).

You can pick up a new set of AGX's on Ebay for like $340 or so... or take my GR-2's used for $150 (shameless plug)

Slick... advertising your sale in another topic. I might just go for the AGX's if I have enough or be stingy and get the Tokicos, all depends on how much I get for graduation. Any care to tell me what I'd need to change the shocks/struts and if anyone's willing to help?

nothing special... socket set for the top, big breaker bar for the bottom, some pliers to take the brake line clip off, plus the usual - jack, lug nut wrench... you'd need a spring compressor if you want to do it safely, for sure if you're sticking with stock springs.

oh like I said - shameless plug
