Wheel/Tire sizing

OK heres the deal .. i have a 96 240sxse currently stock wheels, tires, and suspension ... Im going to put on kyb agx and eibach prokit and i am looking to go 18's ... im pretty sure its a 5 lug 114.3 measurement but i want to know what width i should be looking at... 7.5, 8,8.5, 9 ?? is there any benefit to having wider in the back or should it be the samw all around ? what should be the offset of the tires 215/??

Are you ganna be doing some auto X action or anything of that sort? Some 7.5s and 8s in the rear will be ok. Or 8s all around. Tires dont have offsets, i think u mean the aspect ratio. 40/45 will be good. As for rims...whats ur price range?

yea thats it the aspect ratio, my bad ... i dont know racing plans really right now its primarily for show but i still want a good comfortable ride ... at most 1500 for wheels/tires but prefferably closer to 1000

is it better to get different widths for the front and wider in back ... or does it not make a diff and easier just to have all the same size

either way, but its best to change the width of the tire for a little bit larger one in the rear. You dont necessarily need a bigger rim in the rear.

go with 7.5in width... thats what i got and it doesnt rub until you do a u-turn. with 225 tires it rubs a little bit on the inside of front the fender wells, the rear is just fine you could fit 8 back there but with 215 tires in front it shouldnt rub... no big deal tho and 7.5 looks great. 7 is just not wide enough.

Go with what u can afford. If i had the money id go 7.5s in the front and 8s in the rear, so u can fit a lil more rubber on the rear

keep in mind if youre gettin staggered sizes and directional tires rotation is pretty much out of the question unless you get em remounted. my votes for as wide as you can afford. tires start gettin real pricey at 225+

thats very true ... i dont really wanna hafta buy expensive new tires all the time and remounting wont be cheap so i guess what ur saying is that it would be more practical/economical to go all one size all around which is smart ... but like "ridesnowx4" said about the rubbing on the fender is that true ... if so would the widest be the 7.5's with 215 tires??

i have 7"s with 215's and mine dont really even come close to rubbing. i always thought you could go to like 235s in front and 245's in back with the right offset?
but anyway i just ended up gettin yokos avs es100's.
theyre directional but were only like 80 per tire so i think it was worth it. at least i can still throw the rears up front.
