wheel width

what kind of width are we talking max in the rear before rubbing? i'm coming from a 95 eclipse and we can only go up to 8" wide with 225's mounted.

i'm looking at 17*9's in the rear and prolly 7" wide in front. for the aim i'm going with in this car check my post asking about coils, i odn't feel like typing it all again.

since i'm almost sure 17*9 is to wide to properly upsize i was going to match the tire size with the rims. was thinking something like 235/40's or 245/40's in the rear and 225/45's up front.

16's are also an option. i'd rather go fast then look it. if the spacing on the S14 is the same as the 93+ RX7's then i could shop for quality 16's there since they come stock with 16*8's

17x9 will fit good..just make sure you get he proper off set(around the low twenties)The max Ive heard a person going is 10 or 10.5...I forgot. 9 will be perfect, and should have no rubbing if the u got the right offset and tire size. Id go with th 245s btw.

when people start talking about there 240s they need to mention what type they have. with a S14 you can shove 10" in the rears and 8" up front. you should go with a 9 rear and 8 front. all 240s are able to eat those up with a low offset...like a 32 or 30.

I'm pretty sure 255's will fit ok, but whats the offset on the rear?

As for front, 225s or 235s?
