Question 16psi on a ka24det

if i change the internals to forged pistons and rods, metal gaskets and low compression valve springs would i be able to boost in the 16-20 psi range. i am wanting a 320rwh 240sx. I also wanted to know if it is possible to twin charge it meaning sc and tc, like a root system.

with proper tuning, anything is pssible!

there are many turbo options that will get you to that boost, relatively quickly. you can use nitrous down low if you want to spool faster.

A twin charger isnt very possible...since there isnt any SCs out there for the KA. But if you are willing to put together a SC...go for it. Your goal of 320rwhp is possible...but you just need to tune it very well.

primarily your bottom end (pistons, rods, etc). Your stock bottom end can't handle all that power on its own. You'll want to go with an aftermarket cam, and when you do that you might as well upgrade your valvetrain. Other than that, strengthwise, that's all I can think of. In order to acheive your goal, you'll have to do serious tuning and upgrading many other things, but as far as internals go, there's your answer.

Romeyo pretty much said it...I dont know if the crank shaft will be able to handle that much power.

I don't see the crank having a problem, but while its out, might as well micropolish and balance it.

With the right fuel management, a good engine to start with, and the right turbo, I've seen 350rwhp on a stock bottom end...

And that was done @ 15psi...

I HIGHLY doubt the stock bottom end of the ka will hold 350 rwhp, not to mention 15 psi. Sorry man, I gotta call bs

that is one tight azz ka even if it doesn't have a stock bottom end. but he would be smart in the long run to up-grade the pistons and rods at least.....

damn this dial up at work. I'll check it out when I get home. I just find it hard to believe, but hey, I've been known to be wrong (doesn't happen often, but it has).

what doesn't make sense is that if that motor was so damn strong, don't you think someone else would have stumbled across that set up before? I mean, doesn't look like he put a whole hell of a lot of work into it, stock parts and just a "kit". He's got numbers to prove it.....I'm just confused on how he's the only one I now know of that is pushing 350 rwhp on stock internals.

I'm speachless...sorta. Time to do more research.
