Don't agree? True, you can turbo the **** out of import engines, but you can use that same tevhnology on a big block v-8 and be putting down serious power. Imports can't touch American engines becuase of sheer displacement. however, once Import engines start passing the 5.0 liter stage, then we can have some serious competition.

haha, i know. i was just giving you grief. Its true, they're just way too big. If honda's 120 hp/ltr technology was put in a corvette sized engine...now its a whole new ball game. I still enjoy the fact that my 4 cylinder can "KEEP UP" with something 3x its size. Sure it might not win, but it will give it a run for its money. And if we don't win we always got our big brother RB26 to look at....

Haha, true true. But a built v-8 will hand an import engines exhaust to itself.

Figured I'd chime in a bit here.

Catharsis: That doesn't really mean anything. He could have a fully built motor but his whole setup can be poorly tuned, therefore the reason for the grenading. I know quite a few people locally putting down 300-320whp on a STOCK longblock, except for a thick head gasket and ARP head studs on a Honda B16A. They just have their cars tuned very well.

ArticDragon: Your ignorance is backed up by your spelling. It's ARCTIC. Yes, there is a replacement for displacement, it's called technology.

Lol you owned that one... except, technology does make up a lot for displacement, but when it comes to push and shove, you need bigger displacement once the laws of physics call your setup weak sauce because at some point, the limitations of the motor will be reached, and displacement may well have to be increased... not im not talkin goin from a 2.4L 4-banger to a 5.7L v-8 pushrod motor (see "caveman technology) but you get what im saying right?

Yes, I see exactly what you're saying. Good example: Say you have the KA24DE, and add two more cylinders making it about 3.6L. Same exact technology. The new 3.6L would own in that it's pretty much the same exact motor, except bigger. Same stroke and bore as before, just two more cylinders. Not only would the new motor be able to handle more power, but if both were making the same power levels, the 3.6L would have a lot less strain on it to perform at that level.

One last note, i noticed under your name the subtitle thing says "anti-rice, anti-honda"... I see where you come from on rice, but i think hondas are great cars... well cept the prelude and civic. I drive a 1990 acura legend (cuz my 240 is out of comission for about the next 2 weeks) and its one of the best cars ive ever driven. Hondas last literally forever, and are some of the best engineered cars ive ever seen. Thats not to say that nissan and toyota arent as good (notice i didnt include mitsubishi), but to say that hondas are bad kinda insults the spirit that is import

Yea, I made that thing when I first got on here, but many Honda's have grown on me since. In my buddies shop, there are four of the cleanest 518 area EG Civic's. Each of them are going to be turbo'd (all the parts are there, they just take their time), and I think all of them are going to be street cars, which would be nuts. I'm trying to get them to focus on cars besides Honda's. I don't know if it's okay to advertise, but you guys can check them out @ www.revindustries.net . Their site is down right now, but a new one will be up shortly.

Oh, they're very clean and de-riced. One or two have a carbon duckbill spoiler, "JDM" lol. They're not ricey at all, trust me, these guys have decent taste in cars. One of the guys just got that AIR carbon intake mani. Sexy, to say the least. It's used, but the guy who had it before was dyno testing to see which manifold was the best. The AIR had 55whp over the JG in some areas, and like, 32whp more at peak. I guess ITB's only had 1-2whp more than the AIr @ peak, but a lot less during the rest of the rev range.
Go to USER CP and click EDIT OPTIONS to change it.

As do I bro. I prefer the sleeper look over anything. A person on our local auto forum had a 96-00 Civic EX 4-door w/ the SOHc VTEC motor and he turbo'd it. The FMIC was painted black and put behind all the stuff that fills the bumper on it. You would not be able to tell at all. It had the stock wheels and everything, insane lol.
