My buddy is selling me a Garett T3 from a saab, with 40k miles on it, no shaft play at all, good bearings, and the compressor and turbine housing look perfect, also an adjustable waste gate and down pipe for 150, i know its gotta be a good deal, just wanted to check...lol

Good luck with that. You're still gonna need a lot more stuff than that. Is the downpipe meant for your car. You're still gonna need, intercooler, custom piping, coolant lines, lines for oil to and from the turbo , custom exhaust manifold, as well as many other odds and ends. What year is the saab and what are the a/r housing ratios? What was the displacement of the saab engine?

 

that saab turbo is pretty small, Im a big fan of staying nissan ... go z31 t3, you can find one pretty cheap, I got mine for 125

 

its not like nissan manifactures there own turbochargers.
