greddy s14 tubo kit in a s13 ?

i was wondering...since the s14 and s13 engines are almost identical,i was wondering why wont the greddy turbo kit fot the s14 fit on the s13 and, if there is a way , what would you have to change in a s13 to make it fit

It's all in the piping. The kit would come with the same components except that the piping for the turbo would be incorrect. Also if the turbo kit comes with some kind of fuel management you should make sure that it doesn't require OBD 2 cars. I know that S13 aren't OBD 2 but not sure about S14 and S15. Maybe someone else can chime in on that.

so if you were to buy a turbo kit for a s14 ka, the turbo wouldn't fit? so you'd have to buy and isntall an s14 ka24? That'd be kind of ghey.

Well it's not that you would need a S14 KA24, although it wouldn't hurt... it's that the body style won't accomadate the same way. The layout is just different, but the engine is the same. So for a S13 the piping that you need to go to the intercooler and such is drastically different than the piping needed for a S14.

so it's nothing that a trip to the muffler shop own't fix for about $200 then. Or is it clearance problems with the manifold, which would be a much harder thing to fix.

* If you have an s13 and want to do a turbo, what would you need to buy/have made, that does not come with a standard kit, in order to get it to work.

ps: There is a very cheap turbo kit on ebay for the s14, but I am not aware of whether it is any good or not. Someone told me not to buy it, but there was no supporting informatino as to why.

ok there is some misinformation here to do the kit you do not need a s14 KA the part that akes it not work is the OBDII

just build a turbo it your self that will work without question

you mean buy all the components all serperately? It's hard for people who have never worked with turbos to know exactly what they need too buy to complete a turbo kit. Yes I did read the 'how turbos work' thread. And I do understand how a turbo system works a little better, but I don't know all the components. I know I'd need these parts for sure (sorry about the thread whoring)

* Turbo turbine
* manifold
* intercooler
* wastegate
* bov
what else would I need?

that's all I know of that I'd need. I KNOW there is more, but like I mentioned, I know almost zero about turbo systems, except that heat is a mjor issue, and the order in which air travels thorugh the system, and what boost is.

oil lines
larger injectors
either a reflashed ecu or SAFC
boost gauge
and probly a boost contoroler
IC piping
and a oil pan fitting

turbo timers are not needed jut drive the car off boost for 5 minutes

it also wouldn't hurt to pick up a new fuel pump and new fuel lines and while your at it throw in a 300zx fuel filter

there's no way to get the s14 kit to work. Seems like it'd be like $2500 atleast for the components all seperately. Almost seems cheaper and more efficient to do an sr20 or ca18 swap now.

well again it wouldn't be a kit. The idea would be to buy a S14 turbo kit and then do some custom piping. That would be the easist way I would think. Or just pick up a turbo kit for the S13. Why do you want one for the S14?
