Help SSAutoChrome

Hey, guys i recently shot down autochrome for their terrible headers on my WRX, but i have been hearing rumors that they have improved their quality. Is this true? Has anyone used their turbo kit on a 240sx? Is it worth the cash? I appreciate it alot, i'm kinda low budget and if i don't need to get an SR20det then that would be best. Would their kits on ebay be good for about 250whp and what else would i need? Thanks

I dont know too much about that kit, but I do know that if you want 250whp with a KA then you better build it. Especially if it has like 130,000 miles on it. To turbo the Ka and do it right you will end up spending just as much $$ as you would on an SR if not more. The stock turbo on an SR (T-25) is good to about 240-250whp max. People have got SR's to last almost 30,000 miles with 500whp and stock internals! I recommend the SR, just cause I have one and its been more reliable than the KA, even with me gettin on it daily at 15psi. Either way dont think cheap when your goin turbo.

Thank You. But how much did you spend on your SR? i think that I could get a turbo for the KA for about $1200. and the KA's bottom end is overbuilt like the SR's isnt it? If i were to get an SR should I get the front clip, or try my luck piecing together the other parts and buying the motor/tranny sepreate?

put it this way. when you are finished with doing a Turbo KA you will have all the things that you want as compared to swapping in a SR with stock pieces. the price of a SR is way too much for nothing.
