i think any FMIC will reduce lag..u can do a DIY FMIC..buy a spearco or a hybrid IC and do the piping..u can get a shop to do the piping trust urself

A FMIC on a stock SR will increase lag and decrease your hp. If you're turning up the boost, just buy a name brand kit like Blitz, HKS, Apexi and you'll be fine. Thay all have a pretty low pressure drop.

If ya got the money for the name brand ones go for it, but if ya aint go with a custom one..im sure it works just as well if not better if u do it right.

The bigger the intercooler you get the more lag your gonnna get simply because the turbin needs to fill that space to pressurize it. To compensate lag you can get a bigger turbin or a smaller intercooler.

Why are you only boosting .5?

What size IC and turbo are you running?

Just keep in mind that bigger is not always the best route to take when it comes to IC's. Like Monkey said, the larger the IC the more area needs to be pressurized by the turbo. I still have my SMIC because until recently I didn't have a boost controller. Now that I have a controller, my next step would be to get a FMIC to help cool the higher boost I plan on running.

With IC's, its a matter of which one has the least pressure drop vs. whcih one is more efficient. Don't forget that you can also shorten your IC pipes and mount your IC similar to what SCC did with their Project Silvia. Shorter piping = less lag.
