kkk?

i am looking to turbo my KA24E. i will do it VERY soon. i am looking to get the TO4E but i keep hearing about the kkk...who is this company and where is their official site? i did a search many times and i can't find it. i searched on "kkk turbo" "kkk turbochargers" "kkk turbo official" and still nothing about a site of their own. all i am looking to do is to reach 400 - 450 RWHP. if kkk is "better" than garrett, then let me know. also if anyone knows about their web site, let me in on that also. thanks!

KKK is also known as 3K. This is they're site www.3k-warner.de The site isn't much help, but since companies like Porsche, Audi and Blitz use KKK (3K). I'd think they are very good.

I know this is an old thread but I have some exp. with 3k turbos. I also own a 2002 Jetta 1.8t. These are very quick spooling small turbos. The one that came stock on my Jetta (k03t a hybrid of a k04 compresser with a k03 turbine) is good for about 15 lbs of pressure or 1 bar. Bosst onset is at a sick 1800 rpm. You can probably expect about 200-250 hp at the flywheel. The k03 and the k04 are dual ball bearing water cooled turbos. I don't know much about the k26 or k27 turbos other than they are close to a t03 or a to4 just a bit more quick to spool. Porche use the larger turbos in their cars and saab turbos use the smaller k03. Blitz also uses the borg warner 3k turbos in all of their kits.

yeah most German OEMs use them. Audi 1.8Ts use K03t, the S4 uses twin K03s, Porsche 944 turbo uses K26 (K26/8 hybrid i believe for the '88 turbo S and all '89s), etc.

they're pretty decent. it's all about finding the best compressor map to fit your engine... and budget

True they are good turbos for smaller engines, I don't think that they would be very good for a ka. I'm really thinking about getting a xs engineering turbo kit. However, I'm going to wait until I can replace the engine's bottom end (my car does have 84,000 miles on in and now it would be fairly bad to turbo carge it). The Ka runs great but I'd rather be safe now than sorry later.

i have a KKK K-27 turbo
with audi wastegate
frontmount i.c.
stock injectors
stock ecu
vortech fmu and in-line fuel pump
5 p.s.i.
226 rwhp
233 lbs torque
WORKS JUST FINE!!!

do research and stop listening to those who
"heard" or "read" about something and just
do what makes sense!

there is no need for "bolt-on" turbo kits.
save your $$$ and do it yourself for less
with better results!

Where did you get the manifold down pipe and is your turbo use an internal or external wastegate. I really do like 3k turbos and would prefer to use one than a garret based t3/t4 hybrid. And are k-27's dual ball bearing turbos like hks gt series and the k03 or k04.

the K2X series (K26, K27, K28, K26/7 hybrid, K26/8 hybrid, K27/8 hyrbid) would be great for the KA. the turbos i just mentioned are either stock or upgrades for Porsche's 944 turbo, which is a 2.5L. those turbos are also all journal bearing and external wastegate...
