Angry Manifold Gasket Problem!

Ok so I'm having to replace my turbo manifold gasket on my SR20det. The manifold to the turbo has some kind of bracket on it that I think is supposed to keep the nuts locked on. This damn bracket doesn't let me get my wrench totally onto the nut. I've been able to bend bracket near the nuts except for the nut closest to the engine because it's in such a difficult spot.

How do I get this bracket out of the way?!? Do I even need the bracket really?

Here some faces to show my frustration with the thing.

yeah I noticed this on the turbo manifold as well.

If you cant bend the brackets far back enough to get at the nuts, I say bust em off and just use loctite and torque the nuts down tight when ur done.

brackets were meant to be broken at times, the turbo manfiold to my rb20det had a similiar bracket to the one you mentioned, i didnt take the bracket off, just did some cut work until i was able to get a snug fit....a little customization never hurt anybody

take off the whole manifold and turbo, do not destroy your brackets, they are pricey and much worth the use. change the gasket, and put the brackets back on. Dont bother with lock tight, it just burns up.
