rb25dett T-28 for red-top question

hi guys, i found someone selling their rb25dett T-28's. he says it bolt's right on to the red-top T-25 manifold (unlike the s14/5 T-28's)

is this true?? will i have to modify the oil and water lines, or is it a total bolt-on affair??

aside from the flange compatibility, are they actually the same spec T-28's as on the s14/5's?

thanks
J.d

Not sure about the RB26DETT, but who ever said S14 and S15 turbos don't bolt up is an idiot.

i assume you mean rb2(6)dett ?...........

the turbos:
the exhaust mainfold flange is bolt on but the down pipe is very different. You would need a custom made downpipe, or you can swap the compressor housing onto one of those T28 turbos. The s14/15 turbin is a direct swap. The GTR compressor housing is larger than those and it fits perfect.

If you did mean RB25DET's turbo....

The Turbo from any S chasis will bolt onto the stock manifold.

CA18DET manifold will take SR20 turbines.

I recently sold a RB25DET turbo I had for my old Cefiro, and I know the flange to the manifold was larger on the RB turbine than on another CA turbine I had laying around.

There is someplace I saw in a Australian tuning mag (Fast Fours, I think) that sold an adapter plate for putting an RB turbine onto a CA/SR manifold.

Now if you meant RB26DETT turbine on to an CA/SR manifold....no too sure on that one. It is possible that the twin setup uses a smaller flange opening than the RB20/RB25 flanges.....
