I don't think that the bov would cause it to "bog" down. You run rich between shifts, but not THAT much to cause you to stutter like that (if it's as bad as you make it sound).

Many bov manufacturers have recirc. kits you can purchace.

running an open ATM BOV set as closed as possible (adjusted as far down as it goes) caused my car to bog when the turbo would attempt to build boost while my throttle plate was still partially closed. thus, pressure in the IC would force the BOV open, and release some air under part throttle at high RPMs. made the car bog and stuter badly. not a lot of fun when autocrossing or even just trying to run a steady speed at high RPMs driving at all.

I know the bosche bov or diverter valves are true recir. Vw uses them on all their turbo cars. The only problem is that they feed hot air back into your intake before your turbo. Also forge makes a direct replacement for the little pieces of plastic crap (oem on vw break easily and often).

its doing that because of the maf sensor. if you want a good bov for cheap try a first gen dsm bov and recirculate back to the intake. but ive seen people run them out to the atmosphere. i really dont understand how thats possible and have the car run right.

the first gen dsm bov is an aluminum piece and can be had for about 40-50 dollars with a flange. if you crush the top in its good up to about 14 psi.

On my 1992 eclipse gsx i hit a 13.0 @105mph on a stock bov at about 21 psi before i swapped it out. It worked well. another good one is the greddy type s because you can recurculate it.
