stock KA pistons w/RB T3 turbo

is it absolutely necessary to replace the stock KA24DE pistons when using a RB T3 turbo or can the stock KA pistons be doable?

a stock ka can hold 400hp before the ringlands+ rings blow a t3 is nothing and the size of the turbo doesnt mean anything a rb t3 t25 t3/4 wich is bigger etc depends how much u boost it and make sure u add bigger injectors or fmu but a t3 is fine

KA can handle 12psi stock headgasket.

You can actually go more with metal head gasket and not need to change internals.

no its not 15 psi of a t25 will run hotter than off a bigger turbo hot= less hp, smaller turbos at high boots arent very efficient

^ well thats a given.

Its the amount of air that changes not the pressure.

Example.
Meanin that at 12psi on a T25 moves 14CFM of air.

So at 12psi on a T28 i would move 20CFM of air at the exact same boost.

The numbers arent the best but thats the jist of it.

listen to levi, he is right. also a ka doesnt hold 400hp, all motors are not alike. it might hold 400hp. good tuning is recomended.

yeah im not sure i would try and hit 400hp on stock internals but you can easily get to 270whp of stock internals no prob with fuel managment of course. I've seen plenty of dyno's of people hitting that with the SR20 T25. I think those are some pretty good numbers IMO!

T25 is a bit to weak for KA, it dies out way before redline, i suggest T28 or T04Z.

recommendation: dont over-boost the RB T3. the ceramic turbines dont last over 12psi. i found that out the hard way...
