What Kinda turbo is this?

on the turbo it says:
(mitsubishi logo) 05-12 491(square)8-071(square)0 S

im pretty sure its a t25 off something but...
what did this come off of, and what is the stock boost? also can i lower the stock boost (if so, how?)?

If it is a Mitsubishi it prolly came off an Eclipse. If T25, 7 psi stock and handles 12-14 psi max. If you are planning on putting this onto a KA, the boost level is fine

 

its not from an eclipse, people are saying it might be from a nissan sr20? any ideas

 

Wouldn't think a Nissan turbo would have a Mitsubishi logo. Maybe from a 3000GT VR-4. Maybe someone else can help

 

If its from a SR20 its most likely either a T25 or T28, Im sure its a T2x.

But Sr20 trbos dont have mitsu. on it (I think)

 

Aren't Nissan turbos from Garret? Do you have any idea what year the turbo was made?

Doesn't look like a DSM turbo to me, at least it doesn't look like my old one. If it is, the T25 is a garbage turbo. The 14B turbo is a little better, but still not a monster turbo.

It is a 12A TD05 from a Starion.

It's a far cry from a 20g

 

I'm going to try to clear up all of the confusion here.

Greddy turbos are contracted Mitsubishis, not Garretts.
HKS Turbos are Garrett turbos (GT series) not all GT turbos are BB.

If you want a turbo that will last forever, get a Mitsu turbo (16G/19C/20G/25G whatever)

If you want a turbo that will make power, get a Garrett (abandon that T25 turbine housing crap) A 50 trim comp .63 A/R turbine is a verry well matched turbo for an SR20 for a good street turbo. A GT35 comp (GT40 wheel) .63 A/R aka "Blowzilla" is a nice fairly mild turbo capable of 650hp with proper supporting mods.

If you want to get ripped off, buy an HKS (HK$) or Greddy (Greedy) trubo, because they are the same things as above + 20%-60% more for their name to be on it.

 

just from the pic I would say it's off of a 2.2 mitsubishi motor from the late 80's early 90's.... cars such as the Laser, Charger, Lebaron, Daytona.
