275/40/17
Would that rub on a 17x19.5 rim. i dont know the offset, car is pretty low though. Want to buy a set of dr's and this is the size i am looking at.

1. do you mean 17x9.5? or do you really mean 17x19.5, cuz thats slightly hard to find.
2. rubbing depends on the offset and the presence of body modification, or lack thereof. 3. thats some big tires. |

i believe its 22 offset all around. they are 5zigen pro racer gn+
|
and also, this is only in the rear on a 95 240sx with no fender modification
|
go 35 or 30 series. you will need hella fender modification. if you want to play it safe go 245/40
|
damn 275 thats BMW territory lol..
yea bro 245 would be very much sufficient. can we ask why you have to run 275?? |
^Yeah hahaha Bimmer/Porsche style hahaha
Id be happy with 245 |
Holly CRAP!! 275 that's nuts can you even move those tires on your car??? i went with 245/40/17 on a 17x9.5 work Xd-9's offset of +17 had to roll the inner lip of fenders.
|
275 will be ugly but its not nuts as far as spinning, im running a 245 currentlyt cuz i got them for a steal and i still can keep traction worth a ****
|
i currently have 255 and it looks like a lot of space. was going to buy nitto drag radials and they come in that size. They also come in 245/45/17 but didnt want to go with 45 series.

just get some really good tires, its not so much getting those extra mm for traction its about getting good tires
|
You can definitely fit a 275 in a stock s14, just have to get the right conservative offset. A tire of this width would be for a car with power for drag or grip purposes. If you are trying to drift, you will need quite a bit of power and speed to compensate. I fit a 275 on an 18x10 with only rolled fenders which is easy.
It should also be noted that different brand tires can be pretty dramatically different widths for the same "275" size. Upto a half inch variance from one extreme to the other. |
245 at a stock or +-5 offset is more than enough grip and only requires a mild fender roll only if you have an extreme drop. A 275 is going to suck up so much power, it's not worth it. No drifting with that tire, only straight line and you'd better be starting at at least 350HP to roll them without cascading drivetrain damage and even then, you'd better have some beefy pieces underneath.
My 400HP (stock) cars here only run on 265 rears (by design and that's important!) The only things that go above that are the AWD Lambos (295 on a Gallardo (525HP) Rear and 335s on the Murci (600 stock HP)) and even then the fronts are only at 235 and 245 respectively. |

Our Falken RT615 is like that too, the 225 is actually 245, and our 255 should be rated 275. But hey, if Cooper can do it, so can we. :devillook: |
