Alignments

Okay, so with the exception of the RLCA's I've replaced all the old worn out suspension on my car, I'm about to put a new set of tires on my wheels, get them mounted/balanced and finally get an alignment. I know I should have had one long before now but I didn't. There are no performance shops around here so I'm gonna have to go to somewhere like Gateway for an alignment and I want to know what I should be asking for, I know nothing about alignments so what should I be looking for when they are done. For all I know they could take my money, raise my car up and down, tell me they're done and I would be none the wiser. Before I put the new arms and what not on I could let go of the wheel and the car would slowly pull to one side but after replacing the arms, I can let go and it stays relatively straight. My pull tire has a slight toe in and negative camber but that's about it.

well if you want an alignment with performance driving in mind, you better have specifics values for everything, otherwise theyll just try to adjust it within factory spec. after any alignment they should give you a print out of values before and after adjusments and go over any problems with you.

yea i would give them a round a bout of what kind of number your looking for as far as caster, toe, camber and go from there...like re037 said they should give you a print out of what they come out to be

Yeah, the numbers/values are what I have no idea what to give them. I was thinking that I should just ask to have everything set back to original spec so that I'll have a good starting point from which I can make adjustments to suit my driving?

I 'm a semi-agressive driver. I also like to autocross a couple times a year.

to much camber in the front will have a negative affect on straight line braking. ive always went with -1.5° up front , but mines my everything car , auto x, DD and drift.

i wouldnt go past -3° front , and if your looking for rear grip definitly not past 3° in the rear..if you have RUCA's , i would go around 1.2° -1.5° rear.

your rear toe should be close to 0° , i have mine set at 0.03°.

rear toe can be adjusted with our stock centric bolts , wich most alignment shops dont know about , at my last alignment , the tech watched me and my freind do his job with his tools.

if you have tension rods , you can lentghen or shorten your wheel base by - or + caster. I have mine set at oe spec.

here is my spec sheet , although very conservative.(i dont have RUCA's)
