Noob wheel ?

Alright so I have wheel knowledge of a small gnat, so I'm just going to ask straight up.
Can I fit <On a '96 S14>
-Front 17"x8, Rear 17"x8
-Front 225/45/17, Rear 235/45/17

Without any modification

AND
Would that be a good choice Stylistically and performance wise?

((The rims are 5-Zigen FN01R-C if that makes a difference))

battosaii930 05-08-2007 08:12 PM

u can fit that easy on an s14 and have a ton more space unless u have a crazy offset then you would have to mod the fenders

IPWNU 05-08-2007 08:25 PM

A ton more space in what direction
and how should it be filled, wider tires?
What I want is a decently large rim with a decently sized tire. I want it to be good with a basic coilover lowering, and I dont want it to leave the side of the wells.
I need to do some searching I guess

battosaii930 05-08-2007 08:32 PM

id say decently nice for a s14 17x8 front 17x10 in rear with a nice offset, now this is my opinion some people like 18" wheels on s14 but i like 17".

now what you have to really research is offset. Offset is the most important part of deciding on a wheel offset can make or brake the wheel now research and choose wisely.

IPWNU 05-08-2007 08:46 PM

yea, of what I've read I think I'm going to go with 17's.
So ur saying 17x10's wont rub?
And the (225- Front// 235-Back) will be good then?

battosaii930 05-08-2007 08:56 PM

yea 17x10 wont rub s14 have ALOT of space and tire sizes is your opinion 235 if you like stretched tires.

i personally like wide tires my 17x9 has a 275 when i order my new rims 17x10 im getting 300/35 r17 i like the look of big fat tires but thats my opinion

IPWNU 05-08-2007 09:08 PM

Yea im a fan of the fat ones as well, like I said im shooting pretty much at random
So Final Call?
Rear= 17x10 255/40R17 (Offset-12 or 35)
Front=17x8 255/40R17 (Offset-43)

Good to Go?

bucket240 05-08-2007 09:42 PM

No that front offset is garbage.
17x10 +12 rear 235's 40
17x9 +15 front 225's 40 ...thats good to go!

IPWNU 05-08-2007 09:52 PM

As long as the 17x9's don't rub??
I'm happy wit it

zenkislider 05-09-2007 07:20 AM

10s all around, staggered is gay. just pull your fenders out then it wont rub. easy enough.

IPWNU 05-09-2007 07:24 AM

or better yet 17x9 +15 225's 40 all the way around

zenkislider 05-09-2007 08:11 AM

please get the 17x10 +12, thats the only way those wheels will look good.

alls you have to do is get a baseball bat and a friend to roll the car, while u pry the fender with the bat....its that easy. It will look so much better.

yes that is a really good safe size, no fender modifications required. you could even go with 245/40 tires around. stay away from large staggers liike 8/10 unless you can back it up with alot of power, because that is going to give you a crap load of understeer if you have decent sized tires and a stock ka. it's nice to avoid staggering so you can rotate tires. 17x8 +43 will not work in the front, you will need 10mm wheel spacers atleast so that the wheels do not rub the struts.

17x9 +15 is a really nice set up for S14. But Im personally going with 18x9.5 +12 all around. Special project going on... LOL

MS!3 05-09-2007 05:24 PM

17x10 +12, done. all around nyukka. rolling and pulling fenders is nothing. youll have a dope ass ride with those sizes. 17x8 is "weak like a small child" haha MERCER!
