If your wheels are the same size, why do you want to go with staggered size tires?. Also IMO 235's are way too small for 17x9 wheels, I have to 225's on my 17x7's.

Better tires need less tire to = a bigger crappier tire...

Potenza RE-11's
Ecsta XS's
Direzza Z1 Star Specs

those are about some of the best tires you can get w/o going R-compound and still be DOT

I's run a 245/255 set-up Honestly

And I would also worry about getting that stock susp. out of there before trying to put the power down by getting wider tires...

+1 to all that, if you want grip get the XS's or Star Specs (same quality and grip as the RE-11's, but much cheaper). and I wouldn't go smaller that 245's on a 9" wheel (but wider is better, and way sexier IMO, so I'd be getting as wide as possible, or look for 8" wheels for the front).

I really suggest going with the same tire size front and rear-- you are going to want the ability to rotate tires. 245/40/17 or 255/40/17 would be ideal. you are going to need spacers in the front either way.

These are my summer tires And rims they may see 5000 miles on them during the summer. So if i need them rotated ill have them done in the winter .The ones in the pik above are going to be my winter set so the new ones dont have to see rock salt . As i posted in my op ->(ok im going to run 17x9 +35 offset with 10mm spacers front and rear thus giving me a + 25 offset now im thinking )
