if they are, just switch the wires and if the rears don't work but the fronts do, there's your problem.

Also check the fader.

If you have a multimeter, you can check the front speaker wires (at the door) for any signal.

That should start you off.

checklist of thing's you should do(from easiest to most irritating):
-check the faders(deck and amp)
-make sure all your speaker wires are connected solidly
-make sure the speaker wires aren't grounding out anywhere
-make sure the wires haven't been cut anywhere(this is very unlikely tho)

-try touching the front speaker wires to the rear outputs(lyk raine said)
=if the speakers work your amp is bad
=if they don't work then its your wiring(your wires are probably grounding out somewhere)
-if you're running the fronts to your head unit and your speakers are stock then your head unit is probably bad(or the fader is all the way to the rear)
-if you have 2 signal cables going to your amp(im assuming you have a 4channel) check the cable for the fronts.

if none of this helps you out then give more details about your system and i can get a better idea of what's wrong with it.

the connections on the amp are different for the fronts and the backs...i cant hook the front speakers to where the rear ones are hooked up to...if that makes any sense.

......did it come with your car from the factory or did the previous owner put it in? if it is from factory then either your headunit or your amp is bad. i doubt nissan would put a clarion in stock tho....O__o did you change anything in your car?(deck, speakers, or amp?)

well anyway, you can just get a piece of wire and touch the speaker wires from the front speakers to the rears.

Explain exactly how you connected everything - include all components, and star from the source (head unit) and work your way back until you get to the speakers. That might help diagnose the situation a lot better with more detail
