Question Decent mid-level security for S13

I'm thinking about getting a S13 in the near future and I am sure it will not have a security system.I live in an area where break-ins are common so I will need a security system. I am just looking for some suggestions on decent systems. I will have a 8.50 an hour budget to spend but I don't have a life so most will be intact. I'm just looking for a mid level system. I am knowlegable about cars, but clueless on security systems. Is an Autolock helpful at all? I searched too so don't be angry at me. Thank you for your time.

I searched the forums and didn't find much and searching the internet through alarm sites I didn't know what was decent. Thanks for the input however. I think I will get an alarm and an autoloc. My uncle is close to the lot and willing to shoot to kill as well. I am just nervous. Thanks a lot.

any of the dei alarms will do you good... viper sidewinder python... all are good systems and they come in different levels... go to any audio shop and they usually will carry a dei brand of alarm... all of the dei systems come with starter kill door triggers and shock sensors... if you have the money go for one that has an external shock sensor (one not built into the brain) more reliable... and if you want you can get things like keyless entry remote start 2 way paging systems (additional costs)...

if youre mostly looking for security against break in's and not so much the car being stolen i think a security alarm will do fine, like wikd said DEI is one of the more trusted brands, ive never heard anything against them. if youre looking for security against break in's and the car being stolen id suggest a kill switch, and hide it well . good luck

Thanks a lot. I'll do that, alarm and a kill switch sounds like a good idea. Thanks.

how much do the DEI systems run for? How much is it with all the works? (keyless entry, 2way paging, etc)

Didn't feel like read so sorry if someone posted this. YOu want cheap security then go to autoZone and buy a switch and make you a kill switch. That will keep them from stealing your car.
