Question Dynomat? Rhino Lining?

When I got my 240 it has a P.O.S. stereo in it. Since then I've put 6.5" Pioneer highs and mids in, and two 12" subs in the trunk. Basically, I got a badass rattling system.

I just really want to know if Dynomat is worth spending the money for? A few people have told me that Rhino Lining would do the same thing as Dynomat. None the less, I'm still looking at a few hundred dollars that I could be saving up for my turbo kit.

Are there any cheaper alternatives that will work just as well? Does Dynomat really work? Blah?

I have several friends who are into the whole car audio thing and they always use dynomat. From what I can tell it does stop the horrible rattling.

Don't buy Dynomat or Rhino! All that **** is, is peel & stick roofing material. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's, whatever your preference and buy that. Should be in the roofing supplies section. If you can't find it, ask someone there they'll help you.

I know this because I installed, what feels like hundreds of stereo systems. Oh yeah, and I'm also a roof consultant. This stuff is MUCH cheaper and does the same thing, unless your looking for the name, definitely take my advice.

Peel & stick roofing material.. I'll give it a try. BTW, what kinda rims are those and were did you get them? Those are almost exactly what I've been looking for.

Yeah, that peel & stick membrane is the shiznit. Some genious I'm sure has made bookoo bucks on it. Good for him, but I'm not falling for it. I haven't tried it, but if you're not worried about the extra weight, I hear it's good for sound deadening of engine/tranny noise, etc. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Thanks, I really like the wheels too, but I wish I would've run a wider rim, for cornering reasons because I autoX and the wider the wheel the better the grip. If you get tires, I'd run a 235/40/17 on a 7" wide wheel. That's what I'll be running when I finish tearing up these tires.

Anyways, the wheels are 5Ziegen, Super Six 17x7 in gun metal. They are all aluminum, with a polished clear coated lip and only weigh in at 14 lbs each. I got them from Discount tire direct, with tires, lugs, stems, etc. and shipped to my front door for like $1,100. The gun metal finish matches perfectly to the lower pin stripe.

Let me know how you like the peel&stick, if you decide to use it.

Oh, happy b-day, BTW! Mine just passed this past Monday. I wish I could say it was a happy one. I was broken into on my b-day at a local water park. No, it wasn't my 240, it was my wife's Sport Trac. He found my keys, hit the panic button, found the truck, and went to town, even stole my daughter's candy. The a-hole got about 2k worth of cash and prizes. Luckily he was caught 2 days after (my son's b-day). A-HOLE!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry just really pissed.

No problem. Always looking for a cheaper solution, especially if it's essentially the same thing. Of course if you're not counting the fancy foil backing with the Dynomat name. IMO - Who the hell cares?

It's about the same as Dynomat. It's about approximately 1/16 - 1/8" thick. I don't know how much Dynomat is, but the last I checked it was a lot money.

I'm assuming you don't own a hatch. Hatches are the best for stereos. I have 2 - 10's in my hatch with no Dynomat material and the only thing that rattles is the latch on my sunroof and that's only when it slams really hard. You may want to check which way you mount your subs and the direction they fire, makes a big difference.

My subs are mounted at 45 degrees, the sound wave from each sub meet at the hatch glass and fire forward. IMO - it sounds really good. Check out my cardomain site. I have photos in there of my system.
