head unit problem

when i bought my 240 the seller took out his stereo and left nothing there, so i tried to wire my Pioneer Premiere from my old civic into the empty space where the stereo should go, i got everything wired right (even bought the stereo adapter to match up with the nissan wiring harness) and had 2 rear left(green) and 2 rear right(purple) wires, so i let them be and capped them off so that they wouldn't touch any other wires, i reconnected the battery and the stereo won't work, the power ant. was working but that is about it, so i checked the fuse in the stereo and it was fine and still wouldn't work, what can i do to fix this problem!? all the wiring is correct...i mean red to red, black to black...but i got nowhere to put the 2 green and the 2 purple

You said red to red and black to black, but did you hook up the yellow(constant 12v)?

what i meant by red to red, black to black, was that i wired everything to it's mate color, i had the civic wiring harness and the 240 one too and i disconnected one wire at a time from the civic to the 240 and it all matches...red to red, black to black, orange to orange, yellow to yellow, grey to grey, grey with white to grey with white...so on and so forth...i look over them once more just to make sure the wires are connected, as in the wire itself is touching the other wire...

Check the fuse in the fuse box on driver side where your left foot is when your driving. The 3rd fuse down on the right is a 10amp fuse check if that is blown, thats the fuse for power to your radio from battery. Then check the forth one up on the left thats (acc, and ignition switch or somthin like that)

Make sure that the radio is actually grounded to the car. If the radio isnt grounded then it will not come on. If you are trying to test it while it is out, take a wire and connect it to a grounding point and then to the radio itself. This should create a ground for the radio. I had this problem also. Wierded me for a sec but this is what happened to me.
