Kill Switches

I've been thinking about installing a few of these in my car for a while now... Since 89's don't have alarms, i think this is the cheapest and most effective way to keep car theives from getting my car.

The options i've found to install the switch into:
Ignition
Fuel Pump
fuel pump relay - where is this??
Battery Cable

Has anyone installed this on their car? Also, would the battery cable kill switch have to be on the ground, or could it be the positive?

thanks

don't put a switch on battery, too big . i think someone here has 2 switches. it sounds like fuel pump or ignition could be good -- but i'm not sure

Doesn't matter if it's hidden. Get the key kind where the actual switch comes out. Then you take that with you or put it somewhere nobody will look and you can't start your car.

so for the fuel pump, you'd just splice in a switch to the positive wire?

either wire would be fine, personally, i would try to see if i could do the main relay, that way nothing works... but then again maybe your radio wont keep memory stations and such... try it and see, if it DOES stop your clock, and radio from keeping memory, ****can the idea, if it works right, they wont even be able to crank the car noice

here is a diagram for using a relay to safely cut the fuel lines, and wire them to a switch and your ignition.

Use the item numbers in the picture to get the correct relay, relay harness, and switch.

I use only parts express for my electronics for my car and home stuff!

This is how I will set mine up for now!

I'd do a single keyswitch with relays for fuel pump, starter relay interrupt, and that's it. Without those two you can't start the car.

It shouldn't matter. without either, the pump won't turn on, so the car will not start with out gas.

oh if you do it this way, its in your hands, if anything happens, I am NOT responsible for any mishaps.

here is a PDF file, that i got that diagram from. It contains many more diagrams in it.

The diagram is on the 2nd from last page!
